Two things we take seriously

HYT 88 Ltd runs a take-away food shop (SIC 56103) at 30 Bridge Street, Seaton Burn, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The first thing we take seriously is allergens. Information on the 14 allergens regulated in law is available for everything we sell, and we will give it to you before you order rather than after. If you tell us about an allergy or intolerance we will check properly. What we will not do is guess, or say “it should be fine” to get the queue moving.

The honest part of that is cross-contact. We prepare many dishes in one kitchen, using shared equipment and shared fryers, so we cannot promise that any dish is entirely free of an allergen even when the recipe does not contain it. For a severe allergy that matters, and we would rather say so plainly than let somebody assume otherwise.

The second thing is cooking to order. Food made when you order it is better than food held warm, and it is safer. It also means busy evenings take longer, which we would rather you knew in advance.
